Garapa

PURE & STRONG

Garapa hardwood is a popular hardwood, sourced from sustainable forest management in Brazil. The material is durable and is known for its resilience.

Typical characteristics of this type of wood are: stability, straight grain and a subtle shine. Because the resistance of the material is high, it is perfect for outdoor use.

CERTIFICATE

FSC 100%

The FSC certification system allows businesses and consumers to identify, buy or use wood, paper and other forest products produced from well-managed forests. Guidelines for this certification are, limiting the number of trees felled, limiting highly hazardous pesticides, and protecting the rights of indigenous people and wildlife habitat.

FSC is seen worldwide as the best and strictest certification system for sustainable and responsible forest management. FSC has been developed to combat the continuous destruction of forests worldwide. The supplier of the Garapa hardwood has FSC certification for this material.

DURABILITY CLASS

Class 2 (EN 350)

The durability class is the classification of wood species on endurance, it gives an indication of the lifespan of wood species. For this natural durability against fungi and the like, there are five classes from 1 (very durable) to 5 (not durable), according to NEN-EN-350-2. Garapa lasts 20 years and falls under durability class 2.

WARRANTY PERIOD

5 years

We set strict requirements for the purchased materials, which we then process ourselves in our modern factories. As a result, we give a 5-year, linearly descending warranty on all hardwood products. This emphasises confidence in the durability and quality of our products.

MAINTENANCE

Twice a year

The wood has a warm, light brown colour at first and gradually changes to a silver-grey shade with a natural look. The warm, lighter shade can be maintained by maintaining the product twice a year with an oil or de-greying agent.
