In-house production
FURNS is part of the ADEZZ Group. A leading organisation in the design of the outdoor space. From design to production, we have everything in-house. This enables us to seamlessly coordinate production processes and optimise transport. This efficient approach allows us to reduce our ecological footprint.
How do we do this?
1. Sustainable designs
Our sustainable solutions start with our engineering team. They develop with attention to design, functionality and sustainability. We always look at where we can do better. We do this in direct contact with our production colleagues. During the design process, we also take into account the use of separate modular parts. These parts are used for multiple products. This allows us to purchase materials in one go and therefore minimise transport movements.
Our products are designed to be easy to repair or replace. We even do this for parts of products that are subject to wear and tear, for example. In this way, we ensure that a product does not have to be written off completely. This prevents unnecessary waste.
2. Use of materials
In our production, we pay strong attention to optimal use of materials. Production processes are automated for this purpose. For example, we use nesting software that ensures that we have as little material loss as possible.
In addition, we are always looking for opportunities to reuse residual material. We work closely with the carpentry factory to reuse waste wood as bottoms for our wooden planters. In this way, we give valuable raw materials a second chance and reduce waste. This contributes to circular production.
3. Transport
We ensure that transport movements are kept to a minimum. By nesting the cargo in our trucks, we limit unnecessary transport kilometres.
4. Solar energy
Our carpentry factory runs entirely on solar energy, which significantly reduces our carbon footprint. In addition, our assembly is completely energy-neutral.
5. Quality Control
After production, each product undergoes careful inspection, ensuring that everything meets our strict quality standards. This quality control guarantees durable and long-lasting products. In this way, we ensure that every product can be placed with confidence.
6. Packaging
We do not use packaging material for products that do not require it. In this way, we avoid unnecessary use of materials.
7. Second chance products
Samples and products with minor damage are stored and reused. These products get a second chance. With this, we minimise waste and maximise the value of each item. This approach supports our contribution to a circular economy.
