Our materials
Our products are available in many different materials. Each material has its own appearance, characteristics and advantages. But all materials have one thing in common: they are perfectly suitable for outdoor use! Find out which material suits your project.

Our materials

Cortensteel

WARM & POWERFUL
The corten steel material has an orange-brown colour, which is formed by a natural rust layer. Another name for corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on this material. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outside air the material gets covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer forms the protection against further corrosion. As a result, corten steel products have a long lifespan.

Aluminium

TIMELESS & LIGHT

Aluminium is corrosion-resistant and can therefore be left outside all year round. The material is not damaged by the weather. After the aluminium product has been produced, it is first powder coated with a strong adhesive primer. After which it is finished with a scratch-resistant colour coating.

Garapa hardwood

PURE & STRONG

With the use of Garapa hardwood, we give our products a natural look. All our hardwood has durability class 2 and lasts up to 25 years. Because of this high durability class, the wood doesn’t require any treatment. The wood greys over time. This does not affect the quality.

All our products in which wood is processed are produced in collaboration with Awood. They are an FSC certified organization. Which means that all the wood they use comes from responsibly managed forests.

Accoya

SUSTAINABLY ENHANCED

Accoya has the natural light color and decorative fine grain pattern you’d expect from pine wood. Through modification, the material gains the properties of hardwood while retaining the appearance of pine. Beautiful, durable, and strong...

Bamboo Xtreme

NATURAL & SUSTAINABLE

Bamboo elements are becoming more and more common, also in our products. The material is an excellent alternative to tropical hardwood. Bamboo grows faster, so it can be harvested earlier. Forests of tropical hardwood take 60 to 120 years to recover from the logging process, while bamboo can be harvested every 4 to 6 years. The plant recovers quickly. In fact, regular felling of a bamboo forest is even necessary.

Savrame

HEAVY & IMPACT-RESISTANT

Savrame is a newer thermally modified hardwood that is more impact-resistant than many other modified wood types. This makes it highly suitable for horizontal installations, such as in the street furniture from FURNS.

Kebony

NATURALLY STABLE

Kebony is an eco-friendly, patented process that enhances the properties of sustainable softwood using a bio-based liquid. The process permanently alters the wood cell walls, giving Kebony the premium characteristics of hardwood and a rich brown color in two basic steps.

Reclaimed Wood

SECOND LIFE

Wood that has already completed a full life cycle is given a second life in our street furniture.

The end of a wood's life cycle in a particular structural application doesn’t mean the material is no longer valuable. In practice, materials like sheet piling can often be repurposed for uses such as furniture and cladding after replacement. The reclaimed wood is resized and planed to fit the new application in our product range. By upcycling used wood, we avoid the need to tap into new resources.
